About Rei Ramirez

Rei Ramirez is a Cuban-born Miami muralist based in North Miami, FL. A Miami mural artist at heart, his passion for art started in childhood with doodles of animals and grew into a lifelong practice shaped by both formal study and self-directed experimentation. He studied Graphic Design from 1999 to 2003 and took art classes, but is mostly self-taught—refining technique through trial, live painting, and collaboration.

Known as a South Florida muralist, Rei first gained recognition for live art at local events and, in 2013, became an active force in Wynwood’s street art scene as a Wynwood mural artist, participating in key exhibitions and collective projects. He divides his time between studio work and street art, producing custom murals Miami residents and businesses commission, while also traveling worldwide to share his work.

Rei’s practice evolved from an initial focus on oil paints to a versatile approach that includes acrylic and spray paint. Influenced by the urban landscape and wetlands of South Florida, his subjects draw from human nature and the feminine form as well as crop circles, hieroglyphics, graffiti, typography, and 70s–80s pop culture. That mix of references informs his identity as a South florida muralist and commercial mural artist for large-scale, site-specific projects.

Rei brings a bold, urban sensibility and technical breadth to every commission. He creates work that resonates in public spaces and corporate environments alike—transforming walls into storytelling canvases that connect communities, brand identity, and place.
